SURREY 152-6 (45overs) beat
BERKSHIRE 58 all out (28.1overs) by 96 Runs
Picturesque Wraysbury CC hosted the Seevent Bowl Final on a typical end of summer day a mixture of sunshine,heavy cloud and drizzle.
The wicket used and a bit tired with little carry or bounce and the outfield long and damp all understandable after a period of heavy rain.
Pre-match discussion amongst the hierarchy suggested 180 was a winning total.
Berkshire won the toss and with little difficulty invited Surrey to bat.
The pitch did not disappoint.
It was to be slow and low a graft and technique surface with boundaries at a premium.
Byford hit the 1st ball of the match back over the bowler's head 2 inches short of a boundary 6.

After 10 overs 27-1 normal service resumed with Fuller(5) back in the hutch.
Dave Sowe(19) and Slipper(21) took the score carefully on to 56 little did we know at the time that this partnership would be so important--2 quality players.
Berkshire bounced back 65-4 with 23 overs gone.
Skipper Howgate(27) joined Mikey Boo(12) and took the score on to 'nelson' in the next 15 overs.
At 113 Ian Walters(22*) and Rob Evans(18*) combined to scramble the score up to 152 with tip and run and a monster 6 from Walt.

Berkshire's reply started disastrously losing 2 wickets in the 2nd over bowled by Mikey Boo--first the prolific opener Townsin(1) caught behind and immediately skipper Stuart(0) a brilliant catch by Sunderland at mid-on.
Munday dug in.
Harding joined him and the board ticked over to 21 before Kearney had him caught behind in the 11th over.
Munday could only watch as Clacey(5) and Cudjoe(1st ball 0) departed.
2 wickets in an over for Kearney.
30-5 from 15 overs.
Sunderland was now operating from the pavilion end and tempted limpet Munday(19) to hit his full toss to 'Slipper' at mid-wkt.
Griffiths(9) hit a couple of boundaries in an attempt to counter attack before top edging Walt for a caught and bowled.
58-7 from 26 overs.
No more runs were scored as Sunderland 'hoovered' up Fuller(4) and Woodman(0) before secret weapon Ed Thom was
introduced and first ball had Haines(0) caught at slip by Fladgate.
All out 58 in 28.1 overs.
SURREY win (and retain) the SEEVENT Bowl.
The match was played in the best possible old fashioned way with the utmost respect with batsman walking not waiting for decisions and was a credit to Seevent and the sport itself.

2017 Plate Final
6th September at Cadnam CC
HAMPSHIRE 158-5 (45 Overs) beat HERTFORDSHIRE 155-8 (45 Overs) by 3 Runs
Herts skipper Christelow won the toss and asked Hants to bat first, no surprises there. The wicket looked hard but green and would do a bit.
Hants lost Skipper Adams in the first over to the economical Smith (1-15) and then the usually prolific Board early on, so it was left to Green (21) and Tapper (40) to restore stability with a stand of 66.
Once Green fell, Woolf (41) and Tapper, built the Hants innings to a respectable score, although both Tapper and Woolf had lives before both were out. Greenall (1-17) made the batting more difficult but a late scamper from Wickson (18) saw Hants reach 158-5 in the 45 overs. A total that skipper Adams was pleased with and believed to be challenging.
Herts opened with what looked like a pinch hitter with Perera (16), but the early introduction of the spin of Tapper saw his demise. But it was the introduction of Prendergast (1-31) and Wickson (2-25) that completely stalled the early Herts scoring and Wickson's flight and guile saw the demise of both opener Hammond (16) and Captain Christelow.
Skipper Adams continued to ring the bowling changes but a partnership between the eventually not out Warne (52*) and Hassan (19) threatened to take the game away from Hants. The introduction of Paine (1-19) removed the dangerous Hassan, thanks to a superb slip catch from Green. Murphy (20) and Winton (13) then joined the charge, but with two overs remaining and Herts needing just 10 to win, Nigel Trapp (1-17) bowled a wicket maiden and despite the sterling efforts of Warne, Hants emerged victors by 3 runs, in a very exciting and tense finish! A great game played in superb spirit.

2017 Play Off Qualification Rules
The Play Offs Competition will involve the first and second teams in each group and the two best third-placed sides decided by
average points scored with RR as a tie-break.
The teams topping the three groups and the best 2nd-placed team (average points per game, with most number of wins then RR acting as tie-breakers) will have home ties in the Last Eight and will play teams based on the seedings as per below.

The Cup Final will be played at a neutral venue as provided for in the Competition Rules (5 e)
Otherwise, Counties will be expected to provide suitable home grounds where necessary. Each County shall provide an umpire and scorer for each fixture except where mutually agreeable arrangements are made between the teams.
